Though he's known primarily as a French singer and actor, Yves Montand was actually born in Italy—so this Italian-pressed single is from Montand's homeland. After being discovered by Edith Piaf in 1944, Yves Montand became an international superstar. He married actress Simone Signoret in 1951 and, though he was known to have had numerous affairs, the marriage lasted until Signoret's death in 1985. Montand died of a heart-attack at the end of 1991, just after wrapping up work on IP5, a Jean-Jacques Beineix film in which he plays an elderly man who dies of a heart-attack.
