Born in Marseille, France in 1925, Paul Mauriat went on to become one of the most prolific orchestra leaders in the 1960s and '70s, working with iconic French singers like Maurice Chevalier, Mireille Mathieu and Charles Aznavour. This self-titled 1967 LP is a Mexican release for which someone evidently paid $46.50.

The music alone makes this record worth every peso, but I was initially drawn to it because the cover reminds me of my favorite female super-villain from the Legion of Doom. You can read about Paul Mauriat here, where you'll find a long list of albums he released throughout his lengthy career.
