I always tend to overeat during the holidays and usually end up gaining a few extra pounds. That's why I was delighted to find this 1984 Christmas record that works so well with my current aerobics routine, which is also from 1984. I am now able to bask in the holiday spirit and lose weight at the same time! 

Producer and co-arranger Dusty Wakeman was evidently so preoccupied with magically touching these holiday classics that he forgot to name his band. I've decided to call them Christmas Becomes Electric and declare this album their self-titled debut release. It's basically the soundtrack you'd end up with if you crossed this film with this one.

I've never seen Earth Girls Are Easy, but the Washington Post says it's "the movie equivalent of cheap champagne—even though it's lousy, it still gives you tickles up your nose." I'll be renting it soon, since I like both cheap champagne and tickles up my nose. Produced by Stephen Bray, who's one of the sexiest people I've ever Googled, "Baby Gonna Shake" sounds similar to some of the hits he produced for Madonna—like "Express Yourself" and "Into the Groove," but I feel I should mention that I always prefer Royalty over Madonna for my afternoon medium cardio routine.

This 1987 various artists LP, made in Colombia, is filled with great '80s Spanish-language dance music. for some reason it also includes "Holiday Rap" from the Dutch duo M.C. Miker "G" and Deejay Sven, which was evidently a hit in Europe 20 years ago, but didn't fare as well in the USA. maybe it topped the charts in Colombia too. anyway, here's an extra little treat, though "treat" might be too strong a word:

I've also included an instrumental number by the group Stop from the same LP. I'm no exercise fanatic, but whenever I play this song my body automatically begins to aerobicize.
