Born in the tiny town of Rayne, Louisiana in 1938, Johnnie Allan is one of the most well-known pioneers of "swamp pop," a genre I'd never heard of before. But if this cover of a 1964 Chuck Berry song (on yellow vinyl!) is any indication, I'm a pretty big swamp pop fan.
