Son of an Algerian father who sank into alcoholism and madness after exchanging wedding vows with a Catholic fundamentalist, singer/actor Marcel Mouloudji likely had a handy well of misery to draw from when interpreting the forlorn French love songs of the '40s and '50s. He's being accompanied by Michel Legrand et son orchestre on the songs from this 7" EP.
