Los Sonors

Artist: Los Sonors
LP: El Ahualulco
Song: "El Ahualulco"
[ listen ]

This zippy little number put some spring in my step today, though it's a typically dreary-looking Monday morning in Seattle. Los Sonors' "El Ahualulco" LP, made in México in 1970, is one of the things I dug out of the bargain bins at Groove Merchant in San Francisco, along with another later '70s LP by the same group. (Can anyone tell me what an "ahualulco" is? Babelfish translates "El tiene el ahualulco" into "It has ahualulco.") The record is full of terrific instrumental tunes featuring the electric organ, and I like that in the picture on the cover it kinda' seems like the guys are standing by the kneecaps of a humongous naked lady.
