Dirty Angels

Artist: Dirty Angels
LP: Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye
Song: "Tell Me"
[ listen ]

Here's something I picked up for $2.99 when I was in Austin, TX back in October. I hadn't heard of Dirty Angels before, but was drawn in by the neat album art and the fact that the guys didn't seem to have fallen victim to any of the horrible fashion fiascos available to them when their record came out in 1976. The group features Charlie Karp on lead vocals and guitar; David Hull on bass, keyboards, marimba, mandolin, and vocals; George Maher on rhythm guitar, and Jimmy Maher on drums, percussion, and vocals. "Tell Me" is the first single and best song on the album, though the Dirty Angels' live shows evidently featured an exciting energy not available on vinyl. You can read about Dirty Angels on the Lost In the Grooves blog here, and go here to read even more on the Power Pop Criminals.blog, where Dirty Angel David Hull chimes in to give details about the group and provide links to some of his latest music.
