Formed in the late 1960s in Essex, the British musical family act The Dooleys (comprised of six Dooleys, a Walsh, and a Bogan) really hit their stride in the latter part of the '70s, with a string of popular singles in their home country, as well as some hits in Japan. Many of those hits are included in this "Best Of" LP, along with "Don't Take It Lyin' Down," which probably can't really be considered a hit since it only peaked at #60, but it's indeed one of the group's best. Somehow this record ended up at a messy little second-hand junk shop in the touristy town of Seaside, Oregon, where I found it for a buck when my ex-boyfriend and I took a weekend getaway there a few years ago.
